KTIS Soars with Business Strength, Aiming to Promote VIVE Standard towards World Market
VIVE is the latest world-class program for business sectors. Its aim is to promote development of an organization’s sustainability standard with emphasis on every relevant sector throughout a supply chain. It also covers all operations and activities from manufacturers to consumers with sustainable responsibilities. Recently, VIVE has invited KTIS to join the program as it realized that KTIS is one of the biggest sugar manufacturers of Thailand. As a result, joining VIVE will enhance KTIS to grow further.
Mr. Natthapan Siriwiriyakul, Deputy Chair of the Executive Board of Kaset Thai International Sugar Corporation or KTIS, announced that the company had already been an ally to a sustainable program focusing on continuous improvement and creating value throughout the supply chain, especially sugar production from raw material to consumers. Entitled, VIVE, the program was designed for all stakeholders, local communities, investors, customers, partners, staff, farmers and stockholders. It provides transparent assessment which is retrievable at any procedures and covers all important aspects in terms of personnel sustainability, environmental concern and profit making. Therefore, it helps facilitate effective internal audit, as well.
Asking KTIS to become a perfect ally upon consideration of all quality aspects on KTIS’s standard of sustainability, VIVE mentioned that KTIS was one of the biggest sugar manufacturers in Thailand thanks to its capacity to export sugar to the world market on a continuous basis. In terms of Thailand, KTIS is also the biggest sugar provider for many local food and beverage business owners as a lot of well-known companies signed a contract to buy sugar from KTIS, one of which is the VIVE’s ally Coca-Cola.
Mr. Natthapan added that VIVE also strengthened cooperation between all allies throughout the supply chain of sustainability, from sugar farm owners to factories and other stakeholders. Its precise and correct information can be used to evaluate risks and opportunities for more effective management decision making.
It is expected that VIVE can promote sustainable growth of KTIS’s businesses, namely market expansion of KTIS group to other big business partners of the world which are also concerned with sustainable standard. This program will recognize KTIS as a distinctive sustainable business company, besides cost reduction and enhancement of production efficiency with the use of various existing resources.
