SAMART Thai Harvester Brand Moving to the Forefront
Thai sugar companies are increasingly putting their trust in Thailand and buying a Thai branded cane harvesters to cut their cane. For some time now the inevitable transition away from manual cutting has demanded that more harvesters be available in the cane fields of Thailand.
Lamentably, much of this demand has, in the past been filled by imported product, either second hand, or units manufactured in a satellite factory of one of the major brands. This has been a costly experiment for some, as reliability and productivity on early units was questionable, and although current market offerings are much improved, they are machines which were not designed with Asian conditions in mind. Throughout this phase, one Thai company, Samart, has always been true to its ethos; that is “to help cane farmers to have good revenue, live the best of their lives and grow together with us”.
Srinaul Leethirananon from Samart explains “We have been at the forefront of harvester development for years, but because we did not have the “Big Brand” names on our machines our product was seen as inferior by some. Actually, our solid concept of growing together with our customers was the right way, we now have world beating designs which are increasingly appreciated for their performance and reliability, not only in Thailand, but in far countries where cane cutting conditions mimic those of our Thai homeland”.

One point of pride for Samart, is that the design, although unconventional, is an original design, not a copied concept from a competitor. It has taken time, but now many are seeing the layout of the Samart machine as optimum for any plantation where the field conditions are less than perfect, in particular where harvesting on sloping or uneven ground is necessitated.
Currently, the Samart Predator model has in the last year enjoyed distribution in two South American countries, and is being considered at three African locations, but over the last year, it has been most successful in Thailand’s North East where in Mukdahan province from Saharuang Sugar Mill has taken more than twenty units over the last two years.
Within the next two years Samart will be engineering exciting new developments within the vehicle control system, offering unparalleled comfort and ease of operation in an enhanced driver space. Samart will continue to develop in line with the company philosophy and ensure to give customers the best solution to their cutting needs.
Chose Samart, Chose Life.
